The Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the 'Hearing' website www.clickonmouse.com Richard Hartman, has close associations with the Deaf Community through his family and was asked to 'build' a business referral site specifically for Deaf and Hard of Hearing people on similar lines to 'Clickonmouse'. This resulted in the launch of www.deafclicks.com in November 2000.

However, we found through our research that many Hard of Hearing people do not consider themselves to be part of the 'Deaf world' and do not consider they have a problem! If only they 'owned up' to the fact that they have a hearing impediment and were aware of what is available to help, many thousands of hearing impaired people would undoubtedly benefit from the range of innovative hearing instruments that are available in the marketplace today.

The principals of the company are 'hearing' but have had tremendous support and encouragement from the major Deaf and Hard of Hearing organisations in the UK and in particular two Hearing Aid Audiologists, Karen Finch, RHAD FSHAA of the Hearing Care Centre Limited and Ian Croft, RHAD FSHAA of The Hearing Help Practice.

Clickhear was developed to bridge the gap between hearing and profoundly Deaf people by directing the Hearing impaired population to a website that can help them.
